Ok ... so you know my USA Drug store closed on 9-27. So, for the last month, I've been sitting at home, working on little projects around the house. I get a paycheck thru Nov 10, and then I'll be terminated. I've never been terminated from a job ... so this is a new experience for me. One thing I've learned since they announced on July 5 that Walgreens had purchased USA ... the only thing certain in life is CHANGE !!!!
Now, about change.... It's not always a bad thing. I admit, the first 3 weeks after the sale was announced, I felt like someone doubled their fist and punched me in the gut. There was a lot of anxiety, a lot of acid reflux, a lot of sleepless nights. Then a seed was planted. I prayed for God to show me what needed to be done. There was overwhelming guidance in a specific direction.
I've prayed that God would open doors, and show me the path I was supposed to take. I prayed that he would open my heart to his guidance, and that I'd listen as he sometimes whispers his directions. Laughing here ... he hit me over the head with a 2x4 !!! My point is ... this whole situation reminds me that God is good ALL OF THE TIME !!!!!
We have to open our eyes and see his blessings, even in bad situations. Since I have been off work, I've had the opportunity to pursue some continuing education projects. I've had the opportunity to learn some new skills ... and review others. I haven't awakened once with a headache, or spasms in my neck and shoulders. I haven't been crabby. I haven't dreaded the daily grind. I realized ... I was miserable, and content to stay that way. This whole store closure MADE me re-evaluate what I wanted out of my career.
I've been presented the opportunity to be a real pharamcist again ... one that makes a difference, and I am so excited, it's hard to even put it into words.
So, I'm thankful tonite for new opportunities that God presents ... even in times of trial. Thank you God for being good ALL of the time !!!
