You may wonder why I have so many pictures of myself on the blog. Well, I read an article the other day about a mom who didn't want to have her picture taken because she hadn't lost all of her pregnancy weight. One day she realized that if something happened to her, her kids wouldn't have any pictures of their Mom. So, she started having pictures taken of her with the kids.
I actually have a hardbound print copy of my blog made each year, as a gift to Mari-Grace, to chronicle our adventures. It is important that she can see me having fun with her. So, I try to pass my camera off to someone else when I get the chance.
Heaven forbid anything ever happen to me, but in case it does, I want MG to be able to remember our fun times TOGETHER !!!!

The May Family Farm 2012
On Saturday, Oct 27, we made a trip to the May Family Farm. It is a really neat place, down in Malvern. They have a zipline, a HUGE slide, swings, an old fashion carousel (the kind you sit on and someone physically winds it up), trails, a teepee, a pond, and a petting zoo.
MG's favorite place of course is the petting zoo. She LOVES animals, and she isn't afraid of them.
She wanted me to hold the kitty, so I did ... she would pet, but never tried to pick any of the animals up. She laughed when the camel licked the back of my head. Camel slobbers ... YUCK !!
We spent a couple of hours walking around and looking. It was a nice morning. Aunt Kelley even made a couple of friends ... of the canine variety !!

Halloween 2012
We have celebrated Halloween at our house for 2 and 1/2 weeks now. We went to Boo at the Zoo ... which is always great fun. MG loves the zoo, and it is a clean, safe environment to Trick or Treat. Not to mention they have fun things like a hay maze, bounce house, carnival rides, smores, etc.
Ce Ce (our good friend) goes to Boo at the Zoo with us ... so that is always great fun. MG enjoyed the hay maze this year, especially since she was running from me in it.
MG chose our costumes. She wanted to be a ghost. From day 1, she said that "MaMa a witch ... Happy witch ... not mean witch." So I dressed up for Boo at the Zoo and Trunk or Treat. She loved it !!! I was worried she'd be afraid of me, so I let her watch while I got ready. She'd look at me and cackle out laughing. I guess part of why I like Halloween so much is watching the joy in her eyes !!
My witchy laugh cackle "I'll get you my pretty, and your little doggy too" and chasing her around the living room to tickle her ... her giggles when I catch her ... her saying "Tittle me gin MaMa." ... It makes me HAPPY !!!
So ... on last Saturday, we went to Trunk or Treat at the church at Somers Ave. We go to Trunk or Treat there because it is smaller than at Central. MG still gets very overwhelmed in a big crowd, so I don't force her. We go smaller, and she does great. She had a blast going from trunk to trunk in the parking lot ... once around with MaMa ... once around with Uncle Greg. She even helped Aunt Kelley pass out candy for a while. She was so sweet ... eager to share her loot with the other kids.
Today, she had her Halloween party at school. They had the room all decorated and when we got there, the kids were dancing to Monster Mash ... too too cute !!!
Needless to say, between Boo at the Zoo, Trunk or Treat, and preschool, we have enough candy to last a year.

Poomkeen MaMa
Mari-Grace LOVES Halloween !!!!
She picked out her pumpkins at the pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago. Luckily, they survived until we could get them carved.
She begged me every day for a week to "Open Poomkeen MaMa". To which, I responded, not yet, it'll ruin !!! Well, on Friday night, we opened that pumpkin. MG loves to squish the pumkpkin guts, and actually did very well scraping them out. Funny thing was, MaMa had the camera, so Aunt Kelley was in charge of cleaning off the pumpkin seeds. MG was slinging guts faster than Kelley could keep up! Greg laughed, he says she'll probably clean her own dears in a few years.
Kaleigh B came over on Sunday, and we gutted some more orange monsters. It was so much fun to listen to the girls giggle while squishing around. The pumpkin was big enough they almost couldn't reach the bottom.
As for the pumpkin seeds .... well ... they turned out charred ... smoking ... and almost on fire. OOPS ... moral of the story is don't forget to set the timer, especially if you are multi-tasking !!!
