Tired Baby

Mari-Grace has had an exhausting weekend. Her social calendar was booked solid.

Actually, on Saturday, MaMa had to work, so Mari-Grace spent the day with Uncle Greg and Aunt Kelley. She has a blast when she stays with YiMa and YiFu (chinese for Aunt and Uncle).
Kelley sent me this picture ... apparently Uncle Greg fell asleep during Mari-Grace's naptime. Isn't that sweet.
She is an Uncle Greg's girl. She squeals with excitement when she sees him.
Mari-Grace loves sweet tea.... so Aunt Kelley kept if flowing. The only problem ... CAFFEINE !!! So from 2 am to 4:30 am this morning, Mari-Grace was wide awake and wanting to play.
I managed to get her back to sleep ... and we woke up at our regular time ( 7 am ). Boy was she cranky !!!! She threw a fit because she didn't want a bath ( MaMa won that fight ). She threw another fit when I had to clean out her nose ( MaMa won that fight too ). She wanted to wear her lace up tennis shoes with her Sunday dress ... fit number 3. It was a rough morning.
Finally made it to church .... and Mari-Grace decided to sing. She sang while we were singing ... she sang during prayer ... she sang during the sermon. Good thing we sit in the back. And it doesn't help that the older ladies that sat behind us were playing with her thru church. Needless to say ... as the sermon was being finished, we were heading out the door.
She fell asleep on the way home, and woke up when I got her out of the car. AND WAS WIDE AWAKE. She refused to put on her pants. She ran around with her t-shirt, diaper, socks and tennis shoes for about an hour.

I had to attend a Families with Children from China board meeting ... and she went with me. She entertained while we had our discussion. The older kids played downstairs, but MG wanted her MaMa. She was very good ... but was fun to watch. We left the board meeting, and decided to stop on the way home to visit some more friends. She fell asleep in the car ... and woke up once again when I got her out of the car seat.
She had a blast running and playing with her little friend. For 2 hours, she went non stop. On the way home, we stopped to see Omaw and Poppy. She was one tired little chickie. We finally got home about 8 pm. Keep in mind .. little bit had no nap, and was up half the night. She ate her peaches for her bedtime snack, and laid down in the floor between the couch and chair. It took a whole 5 minutes for her to go to sleep....out like a light. She didn't even budge when I picked her up and carried her to bed.
She's snoozing now, and this MaMa is about to go get some shut eye herself.
Sweet dreams to you all.
Toodles !!!

  1. Sweet picture. Sound like the aunt and uncle don't have children; have to get them to go caffeine-free!
